An Introduction to the Civilian Council for American Security

Our Mission

Civilian Council for American Security is a non-profit organization whose mission is to educate Members of Congress, the Administration, and general public about the importance of a free, stable, and democratic Syria to ensure American safety and security.

The Syrian conflict has devastated the region and puts pressure on neighboring countries; It also poses a threat to our own national security and is an affront to American values.  As Syrian civilians struggle to re-build and bring back the rich, vibrant culture that once filled the country, they are also fighting enemies like ISIS and other terrorist organizations as well as a brutal regime who would seek to further devastate Syrian communities.

Members

CCAS supporters are all in for a free, stable, and democratic Syria representing all ethnic and religious groups.

Nearly all of our members of the Civilian Council have friends and family currently living in the Middle East, but many are simply concerned citizens with a moral compass.   Our goal is to protect both the region and the United States from further devastation by working with members of Congress, the Senate, and the White House to ensure the interests of both nations are upheld as it relates to US security and rebuilding efforts of Syrian communities.

Positions

We support a political settlement in Syria in line with UN Resolution 2254 which calls for a cease fire and political transition.

We believe that, as Americans with an interest in stability in the Middle East, we are in a unique position to help those who need it most. Our cause and our journey have only just begun. We hope you will join us as we seek to build stability and a brighter future for free and democratic countries in the Middle East and ensure the security of the United States of America.

What happens in Syria affects neighboring countries, US security, ISIS, terrorism, and our families for generations to come.
